MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Dr. Jack Churchill was chosen as the recipient of the Minnesota Dental Association’s 2012 President’s Award by Immediate Past President, Dr. Michael Zakula. Churchill was honored by almost 9,000 dental professionals in attendance at the association’s recent annual convention, the Star of the North Meeting at St. Paul’s RiverCentre.
“He has consistently gone above and beyond the call of duty for his peers and profession and his ten years of service as Chair of the MDA Committee on Ethics, Constitution and Bylaws underlines his dedication to dentistry in Minnesota. His articles in Northwest Dentistry were recognized nationally and were a source of guidance and inspiration to everyone,” said Dr. Zakula.
Dr. Churchill graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1978. After practicing dentistry in Rochester, Minnesota, he purchased a practice in the Medical Arts Building in downtown Minneapolis and established Churchill Dental. Throughout his career he has been engaged in numerous professional study clubs, including the Minnesota Academy for Comprehensive Dentistry, the 21st Century Study Club and the Minnesota Academy of Restorative Dentistry. He has been a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the Minneapolis District Dental Society for over 30 years.
He has been involved in a number of charitable dentistry activities over the years, including providing donated services for patients in the Donated Dental Services Program, Project Homeless Connect, and Give Kids a Smile.
