Are you ready to be part of a statewide effort to put smiles back on the faces of thousands of in-need children? You’ve come to the right place! On this site, it’s easy to register as a clinic or volunteer, with several options. Thanks for taking a few minutes to provide us with some key information so we can best support your charitable work. Please know the MDA stands ready to help you at any time.
To improve program efficiencies, registration BEFORE January 1, 2025 is greatly appreciated.
The American Dental Association has its own separate, distinct registration process for Give Kids a Smile. You must register with both the ADA and the MDA for the greatest benefit and support.
Note: You MUST be registered with the ADA to request free products. Please remember the MDA is not in any way involved with the ADA registration or distribution of free products.
VOLUNTEER OPTIONS
HOST AN EVENT AT YOUR CLINIC
For this option, you and your team set a day aside to open your clinic doors to children in need. The number of children you serve and the types of services you provide depend on the size of your space and staff.
VOLUNTEER AT A PARTICIPATING CLINIC
If you want to use your talents to serve children, without hosting an event at your clinic, you can volunteer to pitch in at another clinic location. Once you register for this option, the MDA can help match you with a clinic if needed. (Many dental professionals know about opportunities through their own network of colleagues. Just be sure to register so we can track the number of volunteers.)
SMILE FACTORY
This is a great option for specialists, such as endodontists and oral surgeons, as well as general dentists, who want to help complete treatment of some of the most extensive cases identified at Give Kids a Smile locations. Professionals who register for this option will be listed on a referral sheet, which is made available to clinics hosting Give Kids a Smile events. This is a dentist-to-dentist referral. Smile Factory providers complete care at a time convenient to the provider and child/parents.
FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION
The Minnesota Dental Foundation provides financial support to the statewide Give Kids a Smile program. Your gift can help extend the reach of charitable care.
