MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Dr. Amber Cziok was selected as the recipient of the Minnesota Dental Association (MDA) 2014 New Dentist Leadership Award. She was honored by over 9,000 dental professionals in attendance at the MDA’s annual convention, the Star of the North Meeting at the RiverCentre in St. Paul.
Dr. Cziok has been actively involved in organized dentistry since she was a student at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. She has enthusiastically led by example, while encouraging dental students, as well as new dentists, to become actively engaged in association activities.
During dental school, Dr. Cziok was selected to serve on the MDA’s Scientific Session Committee, where she advocated for greater student activities and involvement at the annual meeting. After graduating from the School of Dentistry in 2006, she continued her involvement with both the state and national dental associations, serving as an alternate delegate to the American Dental Association House of Delegates and as a delegate for the West Central District to the MDA House. In addition, she currently serves on the MDA New Dentist/Membership Committee, where she has personally helped plan many student outreach events and new dentist activities, including the Street of Reality, the Transition Seminar Series, and the New Dentist Conference. She has also served on the Minnesota Dental Foundation Board of Directors since 2009.
In addition, Dr. Cziok is active in charitable dentistry throughout the state by donating time and services at events including the Minnesota Mission of Mercy, support of Give Kids a Smile Day, and dental education of children at Litchfield area school classrooms and daycare centers.
